Aspalathin is a Carbon-linked dihydrochalcone glucoside found in rooibos, a herbal tea prepared from the South African rooibos, Aspalathus linearis (Fabaceae).
It was first isolated in 1965 by chromatography.
It has demonstrated antidiabetic activity.
