The Oxalidaceae, or wood-sorrels, are a family of five genera of plants, and small , with the great majority of the 570 species in the genus Oxalis. Members of this family typically have divided leaf, with the leaflets showing "Nyctinasty", spreading open in light and closing in darkness.
The genus Averrhoa, of which the starfruit tree is a member, is usually included in this family (e.g. in APG IV), but some botanists place it in a separate family, Averrhoaceae.
