Koothattukulam
in the Ernakulam district. It is south of the district headquarters in Thrikkakara and about north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. As per the 2011 Indian census, Koothattukulam has a population of 17,253 people, and a population density of . It is at the junction of Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Idukki districts, in the foothills of the Western Ghats and is part of the Keezhmalanad region.
The town comprises four main localities: Koothattukulam, Vadakara, Paittakulam, and Kizhakombu.
