Crore (; : करोड़; abbreviated cr) denotes the quantity ten million (107) and is equal to 100 in the Indian numbering system. In many international contexts, the quantity is formatted as 10,000,000, but when used in the context of the Indian numbering system, the quantity is usually formatted 1,00,00,000.

Crore is widely used both in official and other contexts in , , , , , and . The next named numbers after it are arab (i.e. a billion), and kharab (i.e. a trillion), although they are not widely used in the modern-day Indian subcontinent.


Etymology
The word crore derives from the word , which in turn comes from the (कोटि), Oxford English Dictionary, 1st ed., 1893, s.v. 'crore' denoting ten million in the Indian number system, which has separate terms for most powers of ten from 100 up to 1019. The crore is known by various regional names.
