Boratabenzene, sometimes called borinate, is the aromatic anion with the formula C5H5BH−.
Derivatives of boratabenzene are ligands akin to cyclopentadienyl anion. Metallocene of many have been reported. The 1-methyl and 1-phenyl borinates can form some of the few organo-thallium(I) compounds.
Electronically related heterocycles are adducts of the notional borabenzene. The adduct C5H5B·pyridine exhibits properties of boratabenzene anion, i.e., it has the character C5H5B−-N+C5H5.
