Xavier Lopez (born October 23, 2003), known professionally as Xaviersobased (stylized in Letter case), is an American rapper and record producer known for his eccentric rapping and production style.
He has been credited, alongside his collective 1c34 and Californian producer kashpaint, as pioneering the Internet microgenre, "jerk", while his discography spans a number of other genres including Trap music, Plugg music and digicore.
Lopez is the founder of the underground hip hop collective 1c34. He had also been a member of online rap collectives Novagang and soevilboyz.
Lopez and his collective 1c34 are credited with spearheading and pioneering the 2020s microgenre "jerk". However, according to New York magazine The Fader, Lopez never listened to the original wave of jerk rap and is more inspired by Milwaukee rap's lowend scene in his "percussion choices". In his review of Keep It Goin Xav, Alphonse Pierre of Pitchfork wrote that despite drawing from various influences, Xaviersobased's style retains a strong New York rap identity, distinguishing him in the generally "amorphous" internet rap scene. He described the music as "vibrant, improvisatory, and fun as hell", while being relatively inaccessible with respect to vocals which are heavily layered and sometimes Pitch shifting. He further praised the selection of faster tracks, while remarking that the slower ones are less interesting, but not devoid of subtlety.
Lopez released his second mixtape of 2024, with 2, on June 5. The album, partially unfinished, was hastily released upon it being completely leaked one week earlier. In a review for Pitchfork, Kieran Press-Reynolds noted that as Lopez's peers tend to dilute their sound to appeal to a broader audience, "it’s sweet to watch someone who doesn’t give a fuck."
On March 18, 2025, "Impact," a song by Nettspend featuring Xaviersobased, was released on all streaming platforms. This was followed by, Nettspend's American Invert tour, which was also joined by Xaviersobased. On April 28, 2025, Xaviersobased released a collaborative EP titled #BASEDSLiME with rapper OsamaSon, hosted by DJ Rennessy.
On August 1, 2025 Lopez released the EP Once More.
On October 26, 2025, Lopez and Che would appear on stage to perform their viral track, "MANNEQUIN" off of Rest in Bass at Yeat's set during Complex Networks in Las Vegas, saying quote "we made it, I feel like Xander Allison." Lopez and Che, along with PlaqueBoyMax would record a song together, titled "MOTTO".
On January 30, 2026, Lopez released a 20-track album titled Xavier.
