The Vizellaceae are a family of fungi with an uncertain taxonomic placement in the class Dothideomycetes.
Description
Vizellaceae species are fungi that grow in or under the host plant's leaf
plant cuticle. They have flattened, disc-like or irregular fruitbodies. Their
ascus are bitunicate, meaning they have two functional layers, an elastic internal wall and an external wall. The
are unicellular, or apiosporous (bicellular, with one cell smaller than the other). They are brown, with a translucent crosswise band.
