Tauricornicaris is a giant arthropod from the Maotianshan Shales whose fossils were previously interpreted as the head sclerites of a Hurdiidae radiodont ,but are now interpreted as arthropod tergites . It somewhat resembles Zhenghecaris, which contributed to the latter’s reassignment within Hurdiidae. However, as Tauricornicaris is no longer a hurdiid this in turn makes Zhenghecaris's placement uncertain.
