Ponnamaravathi is a town in Pudukkottai district in the state of Tamil Nadu.
An ancient burial site was discovered in 2022.
Location
The township of Ponnamaravathi is 40 km from Pudukkottai to the east, 85 km from Madurai to the west, 80 km from Trichy to the north, and 61 km from Sivaganga to the south.

The district, which has an area of 8.60 sq km, 15 wards and 164 streets, falls under the Thirumayam (Assembly) constituency and the Sivaganga Lok Sabha constituency.

Geography
Ponnamaravathi taluk is bordered by Singampunari and Melur taluks to the west and Tirupattur taluk to the south. The towns of Pudukkottai, Natham, Karaikudi and Sivaganga are located near Ponnamaravathi. It is located on the border of Pudukkottai and Sivaganga districts.
Climate
In summer, its temperature ranges from 30 °C to 42 °C. The average temperature from January to May is 27 °C, 27 °C, 30 °C, 33 °C and 34 °C respectively.
Famous places
In the towns of Vendanpatti, Thenimalai and Kumarapatti near Ponnamaravathi, which fall under the Thirumayam assembly constituency, bull riding ( Jallikattu ) is traditionally held annually in the month of Thai. People from many places in the district come here to witness this festival. Vendanpatti is 30 km away from Pudukkottai and 24 km away from Thirumayam. The town where Kattabommu and Umaithurai used to stay is Kumaramangalam, which has now become Kumarapatti near Vendanpatti.
