Plakṣadvīpa () is one of the seven ("island" or "continent") envisioned in . The word Plakṣadvīpa literally refers to "the land of fig trees" where Plakṣa is Sanskrit name of the tree, and dvīpa means "island" or "continent".

Its inhabitants are described as living for 5,000 years, who live lives of perfect health and happiness as prescribed by their . Societally, the text asserts that the four varnas of Plakṣadvīpa are the Āryakas, Kuraras, Viviṃsas and Bhāvins, respectively equivalent to the , , and of . The primary religion of Plakṣadvīpa is said to the worship of in the form of Soma.
