Jhūmar or Jhoomar (also called Ghūmbar in Sandal Bar) is a traditional Punjabi folk dance in Pakistan, originating from the Sandal Bar and Chaj Doab regions of Punjab. It is also known as the circular dance of Jats with hands joined all around and performed at weddings or whenever they happen to collect in large numbers.
The word "Jhūmar" comes from Jhūm, which means 'to sway' in Punjabi language.
