Glenavy ( Logainm - Glenavy entry) is a and civil parish in , . It is approximately 11 miles west of and eight miles north-west of , and sits on the banks of the Glenavy river. In the 2021 census the village had a population of 2,384 people. In early documents it was written as "Lenavy".


Transport
Glenavy railway station was opened on 13 November 1871, and was part of the now closed Knockmore line. The station was closed in 2003


Sport
Glenavy is home to an intermediate-standard football team. Crewe United is a member of the Mid-Ulster Football League.

The area is also home to St. Joseph's Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club.
