This book is both serious and funny. I purchased it for myself because as a new dad and engineer I prefer things explained in a straight forward manner. I enjoyed the humor throughout the book as it took the edge off the fact that I am now going to have a little person that depend solely on my care. It is not the most comprehensive baby care but it was readable and not overly "sensitive". My wife and I are 6 months into our third child, and we have read several baby books previously. This one has more useful information, and even stuff that no one had told us or was in any of the half dozen books we previously read.
