I must say, even reading the Introduction section clarified several things about the CCENT/CCNA certifications, about which I was wondering. Wendell Odom plainly explained the separation of CCNA into ICND 1 & 2. You are CCENT certified with ICND1 exam. Cisco saw fit to gear this certification to prepare anyone with "the knowledge and skills most needed for an entry-level technician in a small enterprise network".
