I think that this format is better for backpacking through/over big areas or big cities when you have limited time. If you are going to either Napa or Sonoma, there would seem to be a lot of other, better ways to educate one's self on where to go and what to do. However, this might be really useful for someone living in San Francisco that is not acquainted with the area and is just going to go up for a weekend, or something like that.
