Everyone puts in a stunning performance, and it seems to move me just as much on the repeat watchings as it did initially. Amazon's streaming service always works well for me, no buffering delays or stalling at all.
Tom Hanks deserved the Oscar for his performance in Philadelphia. He became a young lawyer infected with the AIDS virus before the life saving cocktails were around and his performance was shattering in its quiet intensity. Denzel Washington as his lawyer learned to fight his own prejudices against the gay community as he became more involved with his client (Hanks) and began to understand the bigotry that gay people had to live with at work and in their every day ..
