This is one of my favourite books to read with my son. The pictures are beautiful, and the story has a good (yet not patronising) moral of trying something new to eat. It also has a couple of good 'shout out loud' bits that children remember such as 'i'm not eating that it's pink'.

This is a lovely story that might just encourage a child to try a new thing, though children are exceptionally stubborn like Duck. The illustrations in this book are appealing, vivid, warm and autumnal in tone, and all with a special quirky touch.
