After a brief overview of HDMs and a collection of frequently used abbreviations, the first section of the book will review macromolecular organization in common polymers and HDMs. The second section will cover synthetic strategies for the construction of HDMs including synthesis using the coupling of preformed building elements. Characterization methods and bulk and solution properties of HDMs including individual analytical methods such as HPLC and MALDI-TOF will be tackled the third section. The final section of the book will describe current HDM applications including drug delivery and eco-friendly reactions, for catalysis, biocatalysis, and therapeutic (pro)drug formation.
