The Blue Army of the Danube has crossed the Isar between Landshut and Freising, and advanced to meet strong Red forces, which, crossing the Danube at Rain, Ingolstadt and Nenstadt, are moving to the southeast. Special Situation. The 2d Blue Army, originally to the left and rear of the 1st, reached the Glonn, and there came into contact with Red troops, coming from Schrobenhausen and Aichach. On November 22d it took up a defensive position on the south bank of the Glonn, from Jedenhofen to Gross Berghofen. The 5th Corps was on the right. Its commander had placed the 1st Reserve Brigade, which was attached to the corps, on a line from the hill east of Jedenhofen to Albertshofen; the 9th Division prolonged the line to Kloster Indersdorf. The 1st Battalion 5th Heavy Artillery was in position at Pasenbach. All troops were entrenched. The 10th Division was in reserve, between Giebing and Rettenbach. During the night the enemy''s troops were brought up close to the Glonn. Early in the morning he brought a strong force of artillery into action, and attacked. By noon the fighting was heavy along the whole front of the 2d Army. It being found that the enemy was extending his front beyond Wasenhof, and hostile reserves being discovered near Ziegelberg, the commander of the 10th Division was ordered to put the 20th Brigade into position, extending the line from Jedenhofen, through Asbach, to Kollbach. Early in the afternoon the enemy attacked this line energetically, through Petershausen. The commander of the 10th Division, at Piflitz, then brought up his 19th Brigade and his artillery brigade between Kollbach and Kammerberg, for a counter-attack upon the enemy''s left, rforth of Kollbach.
