Saint Annamacharya of Tallapaka, who belonged to the 14th century, was Gods chosen minstrel. He was known as the Padakavita Pithamaha who wrote thousands of songs in Telugu, in praise of Lord Venkateshwara of Tirupati and his consort Goddess Alamelumanga. Some of his choicest devotional sankirtanas in praise of Lord Venkateshwara are aesthetically brought to you through the medium of Kuchupudi dance by Abhinaya Tapaswani, Hamsa Awardee Dr.Alekhya Punjla. A kuchupudi exponent of international repute, Alekhya has been actively propagating Annamayya sankirthanas, the world over for the last three decades with utmost devotion. While offering her tribute to this immortal saint poet in commemoration of his 600th Jayanthi celebrations, Alekhya also takes this opportunityto place this humble presentation at the Lotus feet of Lord Venkateshwara.
