I installed this fan last weekend. I had condensation in my attic and conduit from the old fan not being vented properly or insulated. The old fan was noisy so we decided to buy a new one.The Panasonic was well packaged. The instructions were written strictly for a new build install, they even go so far as to put in a piece of cardboard that can be punched out and placed over the fan so that when the ceiling is painted, no paint gets into the fan- ni..
Pros:* Relatively quiet. Most of the sound seems to be the "whoosh" from air flow. The fan is very quiet. Not silent, but quiet considering the air flow.* The light I is fairly bright. Maybe not so great for some, but my elderly mother prefers bright light. It is *not* the kind of bright white light produced by "daylight" bulbs, but still very good.* Relatively light and has reasonably small footprint, which is a real plus if working in small areas...
EDIT 09/16I have installed many (20 ) of this model and of other similar models in my apartments over the years. I no longer buy them as there are a few significant problems.- The replacement ballast for these changed from $40 to $100. After years of reliable service from mine I have had 3 ballast failures in the last month. (EDIT, now 7 failures in 6 months out of 15 fans) A $100 ballast is just criminal.
