Things That Occur In Nature is the Post Rock- Ambient Project from film composer Jonathan Cazenave. In a world with so much beat dominate chill music, Snow Flower departs from this trend with a different approach. Cazenave says: "as a drummer, I made very careful decisions about where and how to use percussion based rhythm. Many times on this record, I opted instead to allow a melodic instrument like a piano or a guitar to carry the time. Like on the title track, Snow Flower- the opening is me pounding on a heavily effected electric guitar. This creates a subtle rhythm that you can feel more than hear (unless you have really good headphones!) and is nice way to lead us to the driving beat later in the song. It's all about flowing organic lines that lead from one to another." The critically acclaimed Snow Flower's melancholy guitars and subtle pulse will will at times lead your mind another place. Perhaps that soft spring day, lying in the grass while watching the clouds roll by.
