As someone who has used a very skinny bodied mouse with a fingertip grip style I was able to adjust to this mouse and still retain a good fingertip grip. The ring finger rest allows for your ring finger to mold around the body of the mouse instead of rest as high as the index or middle finger would on a more palm grip style mouse. I have a medium size hand, and I am still able to have my thumb rest forward of all the buttons which took about a day to get used to.I..
