Let's compare this thing to the previous model.First, its made of a dark plastic. This is problematic because it's harder to tell if it is clean or not.Second, the opening is smaller which makes it harder to clean and put powders into if you're using it with a large scoop.Third, the lid was designed with a larger inner lip which is a plus since it create a better seal, however, this makes it harder to clean when buildup forms in the crevice.
For a while now I had been using the original BlenderBottle to mix my post-workout protein shake. It was very convenient and easy to use. The only real issue I had with it was that the plastic started to smell and taste funky, especially if I wasn't able to wash it out immediately. I needed something to mix protein drinks in at work. Didn't want to bring in noisy blender, yet regular shaker bottles don't cut it. They don't mix well and many leak. Discovered the BlenderBottle Sport Mixer on Amazon...but bought it at GNC since Amazon is currently out of stock. Works exactly as advertised. Mixes well, doesn't leak, easy to clean and BPA free.
