Shoes have morphed throughout the years from necessary utility to a thing of fashion and style. They not only cover the feet but enable an outfit to be complete and sends a message about status and style. "A Story of Shoes" shows the creation of such accessories in the 1930s. While not the prettiest or grandest example, it shows the factory production of a pair of simple leather soled shoes and how it arrives at the retail store. Excellent footage of factory work and shoe design accentuates vivid color shots that add life to the informative documentary.
