This update to the original iRIG is hands down the best hardware IK has come out with.Solid foot pedal. Don't hesitate. It's like 60 bucks 20 bucks for the full version of amplitude. It may sound crazy..... but go to a music store and try to purchase all of the foot pedals and amps you get with this package.....No chance!IK's products rock and have the best modeling around. Hands down!
This interface is great for tinkering around or playing live if you don't switch around too much. Latency is decent, and I haven't had any crosstalk issues. There are a couple of issues I have, but very minor.GarageBand isn't optimized ( and I imagine ampkit isn't either ) so the latency increases with that software. In Amplitube, while using amp emulation, running into your amp's tone stack doesn't always help. An effects loop gives better sounding emulation, but then the footswitch is a moot point. Think c..
I agree with the other reviewer - I was reminded when reading that review that this was a tremendously valuable upgrade from iRig. iRig is great, don't get me wrong, but this has a couple of additional benefits (at least) going for it. The active circuitry improves the sound quality and reduces what they call "crosstalk" - I called it "why am I getting a bit of the backing tracks on my main track" or "why can't I turn the gain up to crazy level without feedback"... Again, no slam on iRig as it is the best..
