Whoever said "Never bring a knife to a gun fight" obviously never carried one of these bad boys. This knife is just plain mean. The balance is awesome. The blade is shaving sharp (literally, there's a bald spot on my arm). Most would say it's an all around knife. However, after playing with it and toting it around on a few backpacking ventures, I would say it's more of a defensive/tactical blade. Sure, the knife gnaw it's fair share of wood (I've used it on vines, branches and small trees), but it hungers ..
SOG knives are generally great, the SEAL Team knife I recieved was superb. I had ordered it as a gift for a co-worker who is leaving. She is a dive instructor, hiker, and camper ao I wanted to get her a good quality knife that could handle difficult demands. I was so impressed with the knife that came in I ordered one for myself, enough said. Both orders were on time with no problems.
I was fairly impressed with the SOG Seal team knife. It has a very rugged and sturdy construction; definitely able to handle any task. The sheath is nice, and rugged like the knife. There were minor manufacturing errors on the knife, such as small scratches on the handle. If it matters, the knife was also made in Taiwan. In addition to that, the blade came somewhat dull, and needed to be sharpened to meet my expectations. It is a very large knife to carry around or to attach to a belt which makes it somewha..
