As you may know, USPS offers a discount for First Class postage rate for letters that weigh from 1 to 13 ounces. This discount rate is calculated by the ounce and is rounded up to the nearest whole ounce (e.g. If your letter weighs 1.2 oz, you will be charged the 2 oz. rate). This ZIEIS digital scale also offers twice the accuracy needed to weigh letters (USPS rates are calculated in 1 oz increments - this scales accuracy is 0.5 oz) USPS packages that weigh over 13 ounces will be shipped at 1 pound via USPS Priority Mail rates.
