Starting as a photojournalist working for Knight-Ridder, Bayete has found success in the art world with mixed media and video installations. His work has been exhibited in the Oakland International Airport, The San Francisco Arts Commission, the Oakland Museum of California, MoMA P.S.1, the Sundance Film Festival and the Goethe Institute. Bayete has also used his talents to contribute to public arts projects such as The Laundromat Project, and Alternate Roots.
