The Irish Narrow Gauge 1939-1959.The greatest concentration of narrow gauge railways in the British Isles was to be found in Ireland where between the 1870's and 1920 over 530 miles of 3ft gauge track were constructed. Through the last of these lines is closed in 1961 their attraction for those interested in railways has if anything increased with the passage of time.
