Legends of Wimbledon John McEnroe is a different and fascinating profile about one of Wimbledon s most famous sons. In 1977 McEnroe a brash and brilliant teenager impressed everyone with his Wimbledon semi-final appearance at his first Championships a remarkable achievement for an 18-year-old qualifier. In 1980 McEnroe met Bjorn Borg in the Gentlemen s Final for what is still considered to be one of Wimbledon's finest ever matches. The New Yorker narrowly lost but gained the respect he coveted and later that year became the world's number one player.
