DESTINATION MOON takes you back in time to before the Space Age for a trip to the moon the way it should be done. You'll ride in a cigar-shaped rocket with Cadillac fins wear a bubble-headed spacesuit walk in space and worry how you're all going to get home on the remaining fuel. Although DESTINATION MOON was eerily accurate actual spaceflight turned out to be a bit more complex but much less stylish.The winner of the 1950 ACADEMY AWARD for Best Special Effects DESTINATION MOON was the first major science fiction film produced in the U.S. and lifted the genre from the realm of the fantastic to the world of the believable.The suspenseful plot relates the saga of man's first voyage to the moon amid a series of scientific cliffhangers.
