First I tried to configure it according to the manual thru the WPS and it failed, then I tried several times thru the other ways described in the manual, all failed. So I called Netgear's Tech Support, and after an hour and a half of doing an unholy number of configurations, checkings, re-checkings, everything, we finally through an undocumented procedure, we were able to configure this extender, so I plugged it in the place where it was supposed to be permanently...
I have gone through 3 of these things already. (2 have already been replaced by Netgear's RMA warranty process).
