Set among San Francisco's renown landmarks Vertigo is considered by many to be director Alfred Hitchcock's greatest achievement. James Stewart is brilliant as Scottie Ferguson an acrophobic detective hired to shadow a friend's suicidal wife Madeleine (Kim Novak).
