Austrian filmmaker Jessica Hausner directs this drama set in the town of Lourdes the Christian pilgrimage site in the French Pyrenees. Sylvie Testud stars as Christine a solitary and not-particularly-pious wheelchair user suffering from multiple sclerosis who travels to Lourdes with a group of fellow pilgrims. During her stay in the town Christine undergoes various apparently miraculous adjustments and throws herself into the challenge of overcoming her physical disabilities.
