It works just as described in a Windows 7 64-bit PC. Installed it following the directions, connected a USB 3.0 device, and had very fast transfers.The instructions are basic but clear. It comes with half-height and full-height adapters for the different size card cages.As others have noted, it needs a SATA power connector. This card is twice as fast as the built in USB 2.0 on my computer. However it is much slower than the USB 3.0 standard. This is not the cards fault, it is the limitation of the legacy PCI bus. This card provides enough power to power my external 2.5" laptop hard drives. You must connect an internal power source to PCI card. OverallI went through a few USB3 cards and they just barely beat USB2 performance, when they worked at all. So it was a great pleasure when this just plugged in and worked after loading the drivers, which come supplied on a CD.This board is really fast and lets you get the most out of your USB3 drives, especially external SSD drives, they really scream on this interface card.
