Put it into my revamped computer with ASUS P9X79 mb, 16 GB of G.Skill Ripjaws memory & Samsung SSD. I also had to buy a SATA DVD unit because this new mb had only SATA, no IDE connections at all & no floppy either. (No biggie...) It also had only PCI-e connections hence the new sound card. So anyway, put it in, fired the computer up & tried to install the drivers but they wouldn't go in. It turned out that I just had to reseat the card & then everything went fine. ..
For a sound purist like my husband it is very much worth the pure sound quality to buy this sound card, but the troubles we had installing bump it down a notch in my book. We installed everything correctly and turned on the computer and put in the startup disc. it said that it needs additional power to work you click "okay" and it starts loading the disc. Then, you click the "run" file and it tells us that there is no power... definitely plugged in that sata ca..
