Step 1: Activate the handset by pressing and holding the "911" button in the center of the handset. Hold the button until feeling and hearing it click, at which point a dial tone should be heard shortly after. Step 2: Once the dial tone is heard the call is in progress and the "911" button can be released. Step 3: A dial tone followed by the sound of 3 digits (9-1-1) being pressed will be heard signaling the call has been dialed.
