I purchased this unit in 2012 and was generally okay with it until Mac OS X 10.11.x came out. El Capitan broke the Neat Desktop application and the company has yet to release an official update. Instead it has posted beta versions and instructions for odd workarounds to problems such as the hardware buttons refusing to work. I purchased this product with the idea that I can get rid of my growing mountain of papers. Out of the box I was excited and began digitizing my files like crazy.
