very basic, but still my favorite mirror - its not too big, not too obvious, yet gives plenty of good viewing. it snaps on and off my helmet -I keep thebase attached to the helmet with the sticky pad it came with - after wind and rain and bumps, the base has never come off. i remove the arm after riding because i have it bent exactly how i like it, and if i left it on the helmet it would get bumped around and the position would get changed....this way I dont nee..
