It's so strange - people either love this stuff or hate it. The ones who hate it find the lids difficult to snap on.I just bought a set, in spite of the negative reviews, and largely because it was the top choice of America's Test Kitchen. The instructions say you should remove the gaskets from the lids and wash everything before first use, so I did.
