The lamp's base is outfitted with a nice, multi-function clip that has rubberized grip pads and an expansion range of 1.75 inches for a good hold even on thick surfaces. The upper lip of the clip moves independently of the bottom one to achieve an optimal grip. For tabletop or similar non-clip applications, two stability bars swing out from the base to allow usage of the lamp on any flat area. Seven LED bulbs cast an evenly bright light without any heat. When powered by batteries (3 AAA, not included), this Ivation 2-watt warrior soldiers on for about 3 full hours on maximum brightness. To connect to a wall outlet, simply snap on the included USB-to-AC power adapter and use like any standard plug. Another neat feature: The power button doubles as a dimmer switch, and no pressing is necessary as it is fully touch-responsive. Tap once to power on. Tap again to power off. Tap and Hold to dim/brighten to desired brightness.
