Very heavy and well constructed. One thing to consider, which I did not read in the other reviews, is that there is a small hole in the bottom where you have to pour the cremains through into the urn. That was something I was not prepared to do myself. If I had had this urn prior to cremation, I could have taken it to the funeral home, and they would have done it for me. Lesson learned.
