Some people complaint about short lamp life, which I too have experienced. I don't think it's a good design as far as keeping the lamp cool and the heat eventually makes it fail prematurely. My advise is to slow down how fast you flash the unit so that the flash tube stays cooler and doesn't fracture from overheating and don't block the air vents of the hand piece.
