Showing an altogether different side of the band, In Through the Out Door indicates the influence that punk rock and keyboard-oriented pop had on rock music. Edging away from the hardcore on what would prove to be their last album, the band recorded Fool in the Rain, a classic song that relies on keyboards and vocals to deliver its potent grooves. Although this disc carries a predominantly gentle tone, songs like the rockabilly Hot Dog prove that Led Zeppelin's blues-based sound remained intact to the end.
