I ordered two sets of PIAA bulbs (white and yellow) for a 2008 BMW 535i and I have to say, I was very disappointed. The white bulbs actually look less white than the stock bulbs i.e. not white at all and they're not one iota brighter than the stock bulbs either. They yellow bulbs were every bit as bad as they look amber, not yellow. I eventually bought some GP Thunder bulbs instead (for something like $13 from here on Amazon) and they look 100 times whiter and brighter than the PIAA. Don't waste your money...
I was on the BMW user forum (not associated with the BMW corporation), and several people had said that these bulbs will make the angel eyes much whiter than the factory standard. They were right! My '09 BMW accepted these just fine, i.e., no error codes. It definitely has a white, not blue light. Much better than the yellow-ish factory lights.
I replaced the factory halogen bulbs in my fog lamps with these bulbs and while there is definitely a difference in color, I don't notice much of a difference on the road. Granted, I replaced my fog lights and not my actual headlights, so results may differ if you're installing these extreme white bulbs in your headlamps. Otherwise the bulb gives off a great color, not an artificial blue/white, just pure white.
