Archival Inkjet on Fine Art Paper : Matte Finish, Textured Surface. Specialized pigment inks yield rich, lasting color. Fine art paper affords much greater detail than canvas. White borders leave space for matting and framing. In this leaf from The Visions of Tondal, unbelievers and heretics are first cast into a sulfurous inferno, then dragged across a pit jagged ice. Produced in 1475, Les Visions du chevalier Tondal is an illumination of a French version of the Visio Tnugdali; the 12th-century story of a sinful knight who, after passing out at a feast, is granted visions of Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory, which turn him into a pious man. The story was a likely inspiration for Dante's Divine Comedy.
