This unit replaces the model 550 The Model 500M bypass humidifier features a manual humidistat. It is also designed with ease of service in mind. The model 500M has an evaporative capacity of 0.50 gallons per hour and can handle up to 3,000 square feet if the home is tightly constructed. The 500M has the smallest "footprint" of Aprilaire's humidifiers, requiring a plenum opening of only 9 1/2" X 9 1/2". The unit can be installed on the return or supply ductwork; the discharge is reversible for left, or right side orientation. An integral damper is built in to the unit - to close the bypass duct during the summer months.
