I purchased this product in January 2008. By December (with limited use), it broke while opening an ordinary canning jar. The plastic is too thin. I called customer service. The warrantee is for 6 months. Good marketing, but bad choice for the consumer.
For the past several years I have noticed opening new jars of pickles, jam, jelly--anything--kept getting more and more difficult.
