Took the unit out of the box, checked that it had the supplied batteries installed, removed the shipping strip between the contacts on the battery tray and reassembled. Hit the power button and it did not turn on. Tried a fresh set of batteries and it still didn't turn on. Tried cleaning and adjusting the contacts and it still wouldn't turn on. Not to mention one leg of the tripod was slightly bent and dinged from shipping. I had a feeling this package price was too good to be true. I needed this unit..
